On a Saturday eve, 6 days before it all goes officially nuts and I decide to hot-foot-it to the Sambadrome to see a samba school rehearse for the parade. nnI was surprised to see the atmosphere just as lively outside the Sambadrome as it was inside, in spite of the rain; the young girl in red was fabulous! The wild rhythm is samba school Beija Flor rehearsing. Beija Flor means 'hummingbird'.nnMy name is Rosie. I'm a Lindy hop devotee on 'an anthropological dance marathon' around South America. F
