Veteran KTLA reporter Sam Rubin has died at the age of 64.<br/><br/>The beloved host of Hollywood Uncensored passed away on Friday after being rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles, KTLA confirmed.<br/><br/>Rubin suffered a heart attack at home after doing his regular Hollywood news segment in the morning, according to Variety. <br/><br/>He was transported to UCLA West Hills in an ambulance but was pronounced dead on arrival.<br/><br/>The reporter, who was on air just yesterday, worked at KTLA since 1991, covering entertainment, movies, and TV. <br/><br/>Hollywood Uncensored with Sam Rubin ran for 120 episodes, produced by his production company SRE, Inc.<br/><br/>SRE has also produced more than 200 hours of programming for broadcast and cable channels, including Live From red carpet shows.<br/><br/>Rubin was also a founding member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association.<br/><br/>He is survived by his wife Leslie and four children.<br/><br/>In his last Instagram post, Rubin shared an interview with actress Jane Seymour. <br/><br/>Since the announcement of his passing, the network has posted a tribute and noted that Rubin's 'laugh, charm and caring personality touched all who knew him'. <br/><br/>'KTLA 5 is profoundly saddened to report the death of Sam Rubin. Sam was a giant in the local news industry and the entertainment world, and a fixture of Los Angeles morning television for decades. <br/><br/>'His laugh, charm, and caring personality touched all who knew him. Sam was a loving husband and father: the roles he cherished the most. Our thoughts are with Sam’s family during this difficult time,' the channel wrote on X. <br/><br/>KTLA 5 is profoundly saddened to report the death of Sam Rubin. Sam was a giant in the local news industry and the entertainment world, and a fixture of Los Angeles morning television for decades. His laugh, charm, and caring personality touched all who knew him. <br/><br/>His KTLA colleagues have also made teary-eyed tributes to the veteran on air. <br/><br/>Longtime morning anchor Frank Buckley said, 'We don’t know what happened, but it was sudden'. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Eric Spillman added, 'I can’t believe we are reporting this — it is such a shock.' <br/><br/>Many entertainment reporters have expressed sadness over Rubin's passing.<br/><br/>CNN's Elizabeth Wagmeister said on X, 'This is just awful. Life is so precious.<br/><br/>'Growing up in LA, Sam Rubin was a mainstay -- part of the fabric of the city because he was in our homes (on TV) for so long. I grew up watching him & always was excited to see him in action on red carpets. RIP.'<br/><br/>Actor Jerry O'Connell said: 'Sam Rubin was a LEGEND. Depends on your skill level and opponent level.<br/><br/>When you like to rush in and take fights head on you need split second decision and need to kill the opponent faster than he/she kills you.<br/><br/>M 762. Good round off gun. If you like to provide back up or take head on fights. Good at short range and across the warehouse kind of range. Moderate recoil and you can literally keep on firing without need to stop. Good for prefire when you know the opponent is behind the boxes.<br/><br/>UZI devastating at close range. Not that great at longer ones. Match up with opponent with similar skills you will win most of your interactions.<br/><br/>Fire rate is a little too high. You miss aim and before you know your are out of bullets reloading in the middle of warehouse right in opponents face.<br/><br/>Vector. - Literally no recoil. Better than UZI at moderate range. Needs precise aim cause will less bullet capacity you'll need to reload sooner.<br/><br/>Kar 98 - Literal sledge hammer. You hit a shot (scope or no scope) high probability you will get a kill. But if up close and you miss you are a sitting duck.<br/><br/>S12K - Mini sledge hammer at close range. I have seen players destroying teams with this beauty.<br/><br/>Most effective at close range. Usually in warehouse. Just the firerate needs to be managed.<br/><br/>M416 - Jack of all trades. Easier to handle in AR section. Not optimal for rush players cause will lose in comparison to M762 or even ScarL in head to head with similar skills opponent.<br/><br/>AKM - after playing quite a while this is my favorite gun at the moment.<br/><br/>I use to play with double M762 with red Dot and like rush play.<br/><br/>With aim getting better and able to trace enemy movement I gave AKM a try and realised it is devastating up close and mid.<br/><br/>Few precise shots and you will win literally most of the interactions.<br/><br/>Have moved from consistent 12–15 kills to 18–20kills (highest 24).<br/><br/>Have to remember to use AKM in burst to control recoil. When facing multiple opponents when M672 or infact any AR ( except M249) I use to die taking out one. Not more than once I can clear out multiple enemies thanks to this beast.<br/><br/>Finally what will make your gun the best is<br/><br/>Your movement and aiming skills. You stop and you die. Literally.<br/>Your tracking ability using foot step sound and teammate interaction.<br/>Your team mates skill level and Coordination. You might be a champ but you will lose if your team sucks or you don't get any backup

A mum who was told she was “cruel” for having her son after he was born with a rare severe cleft lip says it has never held him back.<br/><br/>Zac Coates, now 18, was born with Tessier cleft lip and palate – a condition which is caused by facial tissues not joining up properly during development.<br/><br/>It left Zac with severe facial disfigurement on his ride side and he had no eye lid which left him blind in his right eye.<br/><br/>Mum, Joanne Lythgoe-Frank, 58, was “shocked” when she first saw her son but raised him to accept his differences.<br/><br/>Zac has undergone 16 surgeries to help restructure his face and is now a happy and healthy 18-year-old who is hoping to go to university to study film production in September.<br/><br/>Zac, who lived in Cyprus for 17 years, has dealt with stares and comments such being called a “monster” – but he hasn’t left his difference hold him back.<br/><br/>Joanne, a part-time receptionist, living in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, said: “My initial reaction was shock at the extent of it. <br/><br/>“It was different to what I expected – a lot more severe.<br/><br/>“I’ve never hidden Zac away to be an over protective mother.<br/><br/>“I tried to instil in Zac – ‘you are different but to embrace it and be proud of your differences’.<br/><br/>“It’s made him into a confident young man.<br/><br/>“On TikTok I was told how cruel a mum I was because I let my child be born.<br/><br/>“Zac lives a normal life. He’s educated, confident his differences haven’t hindered him in life.”<br/><br/>Joanne, who is originally from Manchester, was living in Cyprus when she fell pregnant with her second child Zac.<br/><br/>At 22 weeks pregnant she was told he had a cleft anomaly and asked if she wanted an abortion.<br/><br/>She said: “That for me was never an option.”<br/><br/>Joanne started getting a high blood pressure and developed severe preeclampsia at 24 weeks along.<br/><br/>She was rushed for an emergency C-section and Zac was born on February 24, 2006, weighing 1lbs 5oz.<br/><br/>Joanne said: “I remember being told ‘your little boy isn’t going to survive – he’s got issues. Maybe it’s better he doesn’t’.<br/><br/>“I came round hours later and got taken down to see him.<br/><br/>“Zac’s face was all bandaged up.<br/><br/>“It was deemed something you hide away in Cyprus.”<br/><br/>Joanne was told Zac had a 20 per cent chance of survival and she didn’t see her little boy properly until she was able to get him flown over the UK two weeks later.<br/><br/>There he was diagnosed and Joanne was able to hold him for the first time.<br/><br/>She said: “I didn’t see him without bandages until I came back to the UK.<br/><br/>“They offered for me to hold him. My instincts were he was about to die.<br/><br/>“They put him down my bra and he was there for hours.”<br/><br/>Zac was discharged after six months in hospital but had his first surgeries at nine months old to repair his palate and his lip.<br/><br/>Since then he has been back and forth to the UK for further surgeries to reconstruct his face.<br/><br/>He had a recent surgery in October 2023 to reconstruct his cheek – by using bone from his skull.
